In times like this, people relied the most on services such as email, cloud, and other online tools to be productive amidst the pandemic. However, technical issues butt in when you needed the resources the most.
The #Gmail has been trending on Twitter for a while in several parts of the world, as users can’t access their emails on the email platform. Some users also reported that they are having difficulties in attaching files on their emails.
The Google glitch affected most of the users in countries such as India, along with some parts of the U.S, Japan, Australia, and Malaysia. Some shared that they can’t log in to their accounts, and others are having trouble loading new mails.
An issue with uploading files in Google Drive and Google Docs writing is one of those noticeable issues. Most of the people who are about to have an online meeting using Google Meet are unable to record as well.
According to a downtime monitoring website DownDetector, the Gmail outage arises at around 9:30 am IST today. Fortunately, Google is already acting upon the issue and said that it is currently looking into it.
“Our team is continuing to investigate this issue. We will provide an update by 8/20/20, 1:51 p.m with more information about this problem. Thank you for your patience.”
At 5 p.m IST, Google updated that its services such as Gmail, Meet, Drive are already restored and went back to normal. The tech giant assured users globally that its top priority is the system reliability Google offers.
“We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support,” Google updates on G Suite Status Dashboard.
“Please rest assured that system reliability is a top priority at Google, and we are making continuous improvements to make our systems better.’
In addition, Google earlier revealed the range of glitches within its services that includes sending and receiving messages on Gmail, recording videoconference on Google Meet, creating and uploading files on Google Drive.
It also comprises issues in CSV user upload in Admin Console, posting messages on Google chat, navigating Voice mail, Keep issues, and adding new pages on Sites.
