The coronavirus pandemic has made people spend their days at home. Along with it, Zoom’s popularity skyrocketed due to the growing numbers of students and employees learning and working from home.
Are you one of the many Zoom users out there? If so, you might want to consider using these hacks for your next Zoom video meeting. In this article, we’ll be focusing on how to add a background in your Zoom call.
ZOOM ON PC
Add a Fancy Background
Not all of us has the luxury to have a presentable background in our homes and Zoom’s choices of virtual backgrounds might just help you fix that issue.
Step 1: Click your profile located at the top right corner and click Settings.
Step 2: Click Virtual Background.
Step 3: Select your preferred background from a beach view to a space view – it’s all up to you.
Choose Your Own Virtual Background
If none of the default backgrounds impress you, you have the option of uploading a photo to use as your background. Just follow the first three steps in “Add a Fancy Background” then at the same Virtual Background Page, click the plus icon (+) beside “Change Virtual Background.” A pop up will then allow you to upload the photo of your choice.
NOTE: This feature works best with a green screen and uniform lighting so that Zoom can easily detect the difference between you and your background.
ZOOM MOBILE APP
The steps aren’t that different when you’re using Zoom on your phone. To add a background:
Step 1: After logging in and joining a meeting, at the bottom right of the screen, tap the three dots and it will open the “More” menu.
Step 2: Tap Virtual Background.
Step 3: Choose your ideal background from the choices provided or upload your own photo.
That’s it! Now you’re ready to join an online class or meeting with a virtual background.
