On a sit-down interview, yesterday with Fox News Sunday anchor Chris Wallace, Republican President, Donald Trump started with his, again, another side of the pandemic story stating that the United States, when it comes to testing, is the ‘Envy of the World’.
Trump went on targeting Joe Biden after the veteran journalist ask him a direct question if the presumptive democratic candidate is senile. He responded that Biden is not competent to be a president because one should be sharp and tough and that if he wins this November election, the former Vice president will have ended up destroying the country. With Biden leading the poll and how the public is sharp to criticize his administration’s response to the spread of the coronavirus, a struggling economy, and racial unjust, the President accused Biden that he will defund the police and triple the people’s taxes.
With his continued attack to his presidential opponent’s mental acuity, Trump challenges his rival’s ability to pass a cognitive test which he had “aced” and that Biden might “be on the ground crying for Mommy” if he was put in an interview or put under tough questioning like all the ones he had before. When the results of the recent poll are brought up, he is quick to say that it is fake.
On pressing issues, the surge of the coronavirus cases and the economy’s status, Trump continues to defend his government’s response on the pandemic as the US, in his words, is the Envy of the world when it comes to coronavirus testing and that he will be right eventually that the virus will just disappear. For the economy, amidst the re-imposing of lockdowns and Americans who are now jobless, he said that the economy is doing well. Joe Biden, in a statement, responded that the President’s ignorance in dealing with this matter for the past six months has caused Americans their jobs and their lives. He added that Trump can start immediately adopting the proposals he laid out to help stop the spread of the virus, save lives, and safely re-open the economy.
