Kanye West’s 2020 presidential campaign has appeared to spoil former Vice President Joe Biden’s race for the Oval Office to back up Trump’s second term.
We’ve been told Kanye West isn’t well; we should have compassion for him. My compassion may have to wait til AFTER he stops acting a fool and being a tool to help Trump get re-elected.— Ana Navarro-Cárdenas (@ananavarro) August 7, 2020
Remember Jill Stein and damage she did.
Have compassion for America!
The billionaire rapper, who launched his independent campaign late July shared with Forbes Magazine on Thursday, that he was “walking for president”, that drives many to question his main motive for the general elections. Reports from different news outlets revealed that some Republicans are working to help the celebrity-entrepreneur-from his filing of candidacy down to securing a presidential ballot in several key states like Wisconsin, Ohio, Vermont, and Arkansas. Just recently, he has been qualified for the presidential ballot in Colorado. However, the late announcement of his White House campaign this year cost him 225 electoral college votes-making it impossible for the celebrity to participate in debates or snatch the title for Biden and Trump knowing that it is not feasible for write-in votes in this situation.
We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States 🇺🇸! #2020VISION— ye (@kanyewest) July 5, 2020
Trump’s campaign dismissed allegations of Republicans assisting West on his presidential bid by insisting that they have no knowledge of what the rapper is doing nor who does things for him. The President clarified this issue by saying, he likes Kanye very much but quick to deny his involvement in the celebrity’s campaign for 2020. Kanye, an outspoken supporter of the Republican president did not deny the thought of him being used as a tool to stain the Democrats’ White House chances.
A political science professor at Bowling Green State University shared with the Associated Press that it is more likely Kanye’s involvement in this election will influence the turnaround of the votes. As a professor whose research focuses on the links between young people’s entertainment and political preferences, Jackson also said that as a third-party candidate with name recognition as high as West, there's a chance that write-in votes for president may exceed just like what happened in Wisconsin four years ago.
On the other hand, Biden’s campaign did not release any comments on this action designed to destruct his White house plans coming November elections. Biden continues to have a strong edge on polls over Trump and good support from the African American community. If West uses his being Black to overtake votes for Biden, Jackson warns that African Americans don't just vote on candidates just because they are black.
The Forty-three-year-old West’s main goal to secure a seat at the White House may seem to be serious, but his wife, Kim Kardashian, asked the public’s compassion by posting on her Instagram live feeds’ that his husband’s words sometimes do not align with his intentions. In 2016, the hip-hop icon has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder that caused major concern to Kardashian.
