If you’re one of the few (or many) who still don’t know who PewDiePie is, it’s okay, we understand. But if you’re on this blog, you’re definitely a curious cat and we’d love to give you some known details about this guy who became the most followed YouTuber for 1,920 days. Although he is now ranked second (T-Series took the throne from him), this YouTuber is still one of the highest earners on YouTube.
He’s Been Consistently Producing YouTube Videos for 10 years
Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg started his YouTube channel on April 29, 2010, posting his walkthrough videos (LP) about a handful of horror games. He was 20 years old back then. He gained popularity because of his unfiltered sense of humor – and language – and content diversity in his early years. Aside from games like “Call of Duty: Black Ops,” “Minecraft,” “Happy Wheels,” “Gang Beasts,” “Rise of Nightmares,” the infamous “Silent Hill,” and much much more, he also released a series of videos like “Fridays with PewDiePie” (which I suggest you watch or re-watch), “Weird Stuff Online,” “PewDiePie React,” “LWIAY,” or if you’d like the shorter ones, go check “PewDiePie Montages.”
He’s from Sweden, He’s Married, His Kids Are Edgar and Maya (and Dogy)
In 2011, PewDiePie and former-YouTuber-now-turned-businesswoman Marzia Bisognin met and started an online relationship. They have been living together with their pugs Edgar and Maya for a long time already before tying the knot. Bisognin also started her own YouTube channel as CutiePieMarzia and retired from the YouTube industry in 2018 to become a fashion designer. The two then announced that they are married in August of 2019.
He Was Named by TIME as One of “World’s 100 Most Influential People”
Felix once thought of actually deleting his YouTube channel saying, “I was so done, I was so overworked. There was way too much. I was so fed up of being ‘famous’ like I just realized I wasn’t enjoying it,” in his “I Hit 10 Years of YouTube Uploads” video. The internet icon said he felt this way in 2015. In 2016, he was named “The Pied Piper of YouTube” in the Times Magazine, adding him to the list of influential people of the year.
Getting to know more about PewDiePie will take a lot of video-watching, checking his channel is definitely going to be the first step. 2020 marks his 10 years on YouTube and his relationship with his bro army. Brofist!
