AFDS Inc., a company based in Beltsville, Maryland, won the contract for the Ames Consolidated Information Technology Services of NASA’s Ames Research Center in California.
The contract obliges AFDS Inc. to provide the following deliverables to the space agency which includes but not just limited to core contract management services, core technical services, an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity requirements for additional technical requirements.
The contract, which is under a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract arrangement, will also stipulate NASA to receive the following from AFDS Inc. in delivering their services: firm-fixed-price contract line item for a number of units as well as quantity requirements for additional technical requirements.
The said company, which will primarily provide its expert services in the fields of applied research, maintenance, engineering, and operations, will also be required to render its services upon request of other government agencies such as the Department of Defense, and other requesting NASA facilities nationwide.
Valued at $338 million, the contract has a 60-day phase-in period which starts on September 1st. It will be followed by a one-year base period with the option to be renewed in a span of four years made available as well.
