Apple’s iPhone 12 series is coming along the way this September with 5G connectivity. However, report says that there will be a release of the 4G iPhone 12 series in the upcoming year. The price will also be much lower than the September release.
According to Business Insider, a new research note written by analysts Daniel Ives, Ahmad Khalil, and Strecker Backe of Wedbush Securities states that the rumored iPhone 12 with 4G connectivity will be cheaper. There have been leaks about Apple’s release of its new smartphone models that were suspected to be composed of 4G and 5G models. However, it turns out that Apple will only be releasing the 5G variants in the following month of September.
Daniel Ives told Business Insider that the 4G variants are expected to be available in the market around February of 2021. The 4G iPhone 12 is reported that could be around $800 says, Daniel Ives. In comparison with his prediction last month for the 5G variants, which is ranging to $1000.
Ives also added that iPhones were expected to keep its prices as it is for this year, including the 5G models. He said that “price points will be aggressive as Apple goes after a broader customer base. Especially in a recession, in a COVID-19 backdrop, they need to make sure they’re hitting all price categories.”
The supposed early release of the iPhone 12 series this year was pushed on a later date because of COVID-19. Apple confirmed it during the Q3 call that the supplies of the new series will be delayed.
The 2020 iPhone 12 series are expected to have four different models with various sizes as well, which includes a 5.4-inch base handset, 6.1 iPhone Max and Pro, and a 6.7 iPhone Max Pro. The new series will also come in with fingerprint scanner and OLED displays and new camera lenses as well and periscope telephoto lenses.
