Tesla Straße or Tesla Street has been reportedly established by the company itself – officially further cementing its presence in Germany alongside the construction of its Giga Factory in the country.
What does this mean for Tesla?
As Joey Klender of Teslarati suggests, the establishment of the street will mainly help drivers to easily pinpoint their destinations through the use of different signage as well as map applications on their smart devices.
It has been common practice to name after prominent figures, objects, or any object of significant value a place, building, or in this case a street. If we follow that same line of thinking, then it is no doubt that it was named after the electric vehicle maker itself.
In a tweet by @Gf4Tesla, it can be seen that the street sign has already been erected. But what does the number ‘1’ mean? According to Klender, it signifies the street address. The sign is placed off the L38. It is specifically erected near the Bundesautobahn Route 10.
It has been reported that a handful of mapping applications and Global Positioning System (GPS) services have updated their database and already includes the aforementioned street whenever you search for it on their app or site.
Construction works on Tesla’s Giga factory in the Central European country is still ongoing since it started a few months ago. Now, construction crews are reportedly working on the factory’s frames using prefabricated construction methods. It is similar to what they have done with their Giga Shanghai factory which was finished in record speed. Now they plan to replicate that with their Berlin location.
Tesla’s Giga Berlin factory is set to start production of the Model Y in mid-2021.
