In lieu of the local restrictions imposed by authorities to ensure health restrictions and standards are met due to the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), Tesla has decided to go virtual with its upcoming stockholder meeting and Battery Day event which is slated a month from now.
As Maarten Vinkhuyzen of CleanTechnica shares, this is not the first time the company has done such a step. A stockholder of the company, he shared that he has attended the Fastned Annual Stockholder Meeting from the comforts of his home.
Vinkhuyzen shares his experience and noted that the Fastned Annual Stockholder Meeting event gave the virtual attendees the opportunity to interact with the attending board members and management.
For the upcoming event on September 22nd, the electric vehicle (EV) maker announced that event will start at exactly 1:30 PM Pacific Time. It will be available for the general public but shareholders will be provided a separate link that they can use to participate in the event and submit their votes and comments about the meeting’s agenda. Each shareholder will be provided a unique password that will be provided once they have confirmed their identity via the company’s transfer agent, ComputerShare Trust Company, or through their broker or bank.
There will still be physical attendees present in the event though. But to ensure that everybody will be given a chance to attend the event, Tesla has conducted a raffle of the names of the attendees last July 31st. The company ensured that they will strictly follow the local health measurements and restrictions necessary to ensure the public’s safety. They shared that they will even go the extra mile in screening the people that will be physically there on the day of the event.
