On Friday, Taylor Swift fans were surprised when she released her eighth studio album “Folklore” that she had sort of announce on Thursday before she dropped it.
“[It's] an entirely brand new album of songs I’ve poured on all of my whims, dreams, fears, and musings into," the ‘Love Story’ singer teased on Thursday.
"Before this year I probably would’ve overthought when to release this music at the ‘perfect’ time, but the times we’re living in keep reminding me that nothing is guaranteed.”

In isolation my imagination has run wild and this album is the result, a collection of songs and stories that flowed like a stream of consciousness. Picking up a pen was my way of escaping into fantasy, history, and memory. I’ve told these stories to the best of my ability with all the love, wonder, and whimsy they deserve. Now it’s up to you to pass them down. folklore is out now. 📷: Beth Garrabrant
Soon after the release of the 30-year-old singer, she made the whole Swifty community proud again when her amusing and heartwarming music video of “Cardigan” was made public. The music video is the second track in her Folklore album along with her other beautifully crafted songs.
Taylor shared how she and the team managed to create the music video even though there are safety protocols to follow. She said that they have followed the social distancing and wearing mask protocols. She even said that she made her makeups and styling all by herself.

Most of the things I had planned this summer didn’t end up happening, but there is something I hadn’t planned on that DID happen. And that thing is my 8th studio album, folklore. Surprise 🤗Tonight at midnight I’ll be releasing my entire brand new album of songs I’ve poured all of my whims, dreams, fears, and musings into. I wrote and recorded this music in isolation but got to collaborate with some musical heroes of mine; @aarondessner (who has co-written or produced 11 of the 16 songs), @boniver (who co-wrote and was kind enough to sing on one with me), William Bowery (who co-wrote two with me) and @jackantonoff (who is basically musical family at this point). Engineered by Laura Sisk and Jon Low, mixed by Serban Ghenea & Jon Low. The album photos were shot by the amazing @bethgarrabrant. Before this year I probably would’ve overthought when to release this music at the ‘perfect’ time, but the times we’re living in keep reminding me that nothing is guaranteed. My gut is telling me that if you make something you love, you should just put it out into the world. That’s the side of uncertainty I can get on board with. Love you guys so much ♥️
Fans were loving her next to her seventh "Lover" album. But, no one like Natalia Bryant is happier when the singer-songwriter gifted her with the freshly released album.
Late Kobe’s daughter can’t hide her joy when she also received a cardigan that is the same as the one Swift is wearing on her “Cardigan” music video.
The 17-year-old Natalia shared her excitement sharing a photo of the cardigan on her Instagram story saying how much she is “Obsessed with Folklore!”
Taylor’s albums and songs have always something on it that fans are trying to decode, especially with this new album. Before she released her album, she has teased her fans about her sprinkling “several Easter eggs” on it, which triggers that investigative side of Swifties.
It was known to the fans that Lively’s oldest daughter James appeared in Taylor’s old track, “Gorgeous,” that has caused the fans to come up with the speculations.
Blake Lively has been friends with the “Cardigan” singer for years, and she has been a big fan of the GRAMMY Awardee.
Lively did not let the day passed without showing her appreciation to Swift’s another award-winning album, saying that “Folklore is full of heart, soul, humor, passion, intelligence, wit, whimsy, reality, imagination, strength, vulnerability and above all: Love.”
