Recently, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi’s mansion were targeted by burglars on the 4th of July.
It was in early 2019 when the comedian bought the 8,188 square-foot Montecito mansion amounting to $27 million. The celebrity couple has been living together since 2005 and tied the knot around the summer of August 2018.
The news about the burglar incident in DeGeneres-de Rossi mansion has fired up the entertainment news since it was announced that the couple was actually at home on the brink of the robbery. According to reports and sources, the suspect or suspects entered the couple’s mansion through the backdoor. But, the culprits were not detected by their security equipment during the escape.
There is still no clear statement if the celebrity couple were aware of the incident or they have encountered the burglars in some way.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office made a statement on the press release held on Thursday. It was stated that the attack might be because of the fact that DeGeneres and de Rossi are known celebrities. Added as well in the statement that there is no specified list of stolen items. However, they described it as the “high-value jewelry and watches.”
The Sherriff’s Office is conducting an investigation that could have a connection in other recent robbery cases in the area. They also gave some advice to other people living in that area including famous personalities like Oprah Winfrey.
The scary incident has led for DeGeneres at 62 and her partner de Rossi at 47 to take significant action to avoid experiencing such horror in the future. Since then, security guards have been patrolling to secure the perimeter of their Montecito mansion. They even hired a security firm to install new laser systems and cameras all over the area.
Speculations after speculations.
Recently, there have been rumors circulating that some unknown staffs of the DeGeneres’ show are proclaiming remorse against the toxic work environment in the show. However, that would remain unclear as of now.
