The $160-million-plus social news platform founded by Block.one has made its first public post viewable and up for business.
The EOS-based Voice, a decentralized social media network built by one of the leading producers of highly scalable, high performance, open-source software Block.one, aims to level up the competition in the virtual world as this project rewards its content creators and users blockchain tokens. With reports of varied attacks brought by automated –malicious accounts and unverifiable fake news troubled big tech - Facebook and Twitter, this Block.one-founded site, according to Coinspeaker, attempts to deliver real, timely and verified news to the public as it brings the competition on a better note within the virtual world. The current trend insinuates that media and the social media landscape are heading into the same scope, Voice CEO Salah Michael Zalatimo, explained during the platform’s press conference, that their newly-introduced site advocates: transparency, authenticity, and humanity, something that is free from media manipulation.
With an outbreak that the world is currently facing, Director of Mobile Engineering Hernan Arber shared with Coinspeaker that it is within these uncertain times, true leadership is vital not just in medical and financial industries but also with mainstream media and social networks that serve as a frontline in the digital world. He noted that in these utmost ambiguities we face, with the headlines of the COVID-19 pandemic and the expected economic recession feeding that uncertainty, plus the fear and misinformation being spread on social media, create a perfect recipe for a global depression.
As its flagship platform product, Block.one pushed for the site's independence by granting it with $150 million to work and focus on its brand and identity in the digital world. This will give both companies the liberation to strengthen their workforce to carry out their respective designed mission and functions in the industry.
Decrypt shared, Voice users who were present during the site’s beta launch this year got the chance to invite their friends to join the app on Saturday, and it features a single-listed paged posts that were mostly plugs of Block.one’s EOS cryptocurrency and news articles syndicated from cryptocurrency publications. The application is now accessible to 20 plus countries and territories.
