Pinterest ladies heads up!
Have you ever searched the latest style inspiration or a makeup look that you want to try out just recently on Pinterest? Chances are that you would be greeted with tons of search results. For Caucasian users of the service, it’s not a big of a deal for most searches that appear on top and are highly likely to feature content targeted for the white demographic. But for people of color, this may be a big problem for them because they cannot the search result that is most useful for them.
Pinterest heeded to this call by improving its search capabilities, with the help of artificial intelligence (AI), and provide users of the platform option to be more specific with their search. The company believes that doing this would give users more significant results. AS James Vincent of The Verge reports, a user can be more specific with their search requests through the use of keywords that will help the AI’s algorithm fetch better-suited results.
Before buying a lipstick shade you most definitely would want to try it on right? You can do so with Pinterest’s Try On feature. With this, you can see if a specific color would look flattering on you or not. And good news, Pinterest’s improved skin tone detecting technology will be integrated with this feature.
These changes were already introduced in the United States two years ago and will see future rollout to other countries in the future.
Have you tried out this newest feature update yet? What are your thoughts? Sound it up in the comment section below. We'd love to hear back from you.
