Get ready for the newest visual album that will give you a transcendental view of the universe!
Beck, a Grammy-award winning artist, has released his latest body of work in collaboration with artificial intelligence (AI) OSK and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Tuesday, August 12.
The visual album, with the title of ‘Hyperspace: A.I. Exploration’, contains songs in its tracklist such as ‘Stratosphere’, ‘Star Everlasting Nothing’ among others.
The official album launch also coincided with a premiere on the streaming site Youtube of its bonus track titled ‘I Am the Cosmos (42420)’. Other song videos were made available as well.
The visual key, which is CRUCIAL to any visual album, came from NASA’s equipment and past missions’ findings including but not limited to data from the Hubble Space Telescope, Cassini-Huygens, Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS), and more. The aforementioned missions were able to document several viewpoints of space in high definition.
But where does the AI plays its magic? According to a report by Steve Spaleta on the site Space.com, AI creatives company OSK used a series of technologies including AI utilizing vision, learning, and a system known as Generative Adversarial neural Networks (GAN) which then resulted to the system creating ‘its own visions of our universe’.
